Guy Crowley studied with David Hamilton and Alexander Allen at the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music. He continued his studies as a scholar at the RoCM with John McCaw and then Michael Collins. Two Martin Musical Scholarships enabled him to study classical clarinet with Michael Harris. Guy's interest in contemporary music has led to solo performances at the Aldeburgh Festival, City of London Festival, the Purcell Room and in BBC Radio 3's Sounding the Century.

As a freelance clarinettist he has worked with many contemporary music groups including Ensemble Corrente, London Sinfonietta, Continuum and Sinfonia 21. He has recorded music for film, BBC television and radio dramas. Guy also performs on period clarinets and is a member of the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, the English Baroque Soloists and the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment..

Guy undertook further study at Newark College in instrument making and now produces copies of historical clarinets and mouthpieces. As well as performing solo on Metier's first Maxwell Davies CD, he has also recorded for us as a member of Topologies.
